Dimensions: 5 inches tall x 6 inches wide (bell only - add an inch to the width to account for hanging hardware).
Special because: this is the only wall-mounted bell I've ever come across and it's the perfect, transitional shade / tone of brass (i.e. can work in vintage, mid-century, or modern spaces). A ship's bell was used as early as the 15th century to sound the time on board and, if rang in rapid succession, as a fog warning.
Picture it: in the kitchen or dining area on an empty, narrow section of wall that has been waiting for that special something—bonus because you can use it to call the fam to eat. Tie a rope on the end for easy ringing.
FYI: This piece is in excellent vintage condition and a solid, substantial piece. Hangs straight and dings loud. Has an expected amount of patina (see pictures). Hanging hardware is included. Flat piece secures to wall and the bell slides into it.
